The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supervisor, the main responsibilities of the Blaster Helper are:

Execute all assigned explosive loading tasks as directed by the lead blaster, in compliance with current standards and regulations.

Assist the blaster in executing blasting work or any other task requiring the use of explosives.

Prepare the site for the driller.
-
Maintain inventory tracking of explosive and non-explosive products.
-
Perform equipment inspections before and after each shift.
-
If required, assume the responsibilities of the blaster.

As needed, perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Have the skill to operate a CAT AD30 mining truck, a CAT 420F backhoe, and a Jeep Land Cruiser boom truck.
- Possess a General Explosives Permit.
- Have obtained a high school diploma.
- Familiarity with electronic initiation systems is an asset.
- Possess mining modules FMTM 1 to 5 and 7.
- Have 0 to 2 years of experience.
- Due to frequent interactions with French-speaking team members, bilingualism (French/English) is an asset to facilitate and improve internal communications.
