This is a hybrid position; the selected candidate will be required to work from Pinchin Richmond office and have flexibility to work from home. This new role reports to the Operations Manager.
Role Overview:
In this role, you will provide drafting and technical support by preparing, updating, and delivering quality AutoCAD figures, GIS data, maps, and technical drawings for professional consulting and engineering reports. Based in BC, you will primarily support local and regional project teams, with additional support to teams across Canada by collaborating with the Central Graphics Team (CGT) as required. Your work will ensure that all drawings, figures, and maps are accurate, consistent, and completed on schedule, supporting efficient and high-quality report production. This role reports to the Operations Manager***.***
Your role and action:
- Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings to support HAZ projects, including site plans, floor plans, and technical figures for reports
- Apply Pinchin drafting standards, templates, and naming conventions
- Respond to drawing requests submitted through the CGT Ticketing System
- Perform QA/QC checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards
- Collaborate closely with Project Technologists, Project Managers, and the BC HAZ team
- Coordinate with the Central Geomatics Team (CGT) for technical support, training, performance feedback, and ongoing development
- Manage drawing revisions and updates in response to technical comments
What you bring to the Pinchin:
- Experience with AutoCAD, Surfer, Microsoft Office and GIS applications
- Experience with preparing figures showing floor plans, site plans, cross sections, excavations, groundwater contours, etc.
- Ability to interpret hand sketches, photos, and field markups and translate them into clean drawings
- Working knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Pro would be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with AutoLISP, Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), or other automation tools is advantageous.
- Conduct QA/QC of the data, drawings or deliverables prepared by others and ensuring the deliverables have addressed all inputs/comments from the Project Management team.
- Excellent communications skills and a willingness to learn new skills are essential
- Vehicle and valid driver's license preferred
- Successful completion of an architectural technologist diploma program or equivalent
