Job Purpose & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Transportation Services Manager and the Environmental Services Manager, the Administrative Assistant will be working at the City of Cold Lake’s Public Works Shop and is primarily responsible for:

Providing telephone reception and serving as a front-line contact in providing information and resolving issues from the public, Managers and other stakeholders, as well as dealing with questions and the administration of processes and policies.

Utilizing a variety of office equipment to process financial transactions, retrieve date from multiple sources, compose correspondence, create presentations, reports and documents.

Providing information and communication between departments to schedule meetings, manage projects, prepare agendas and meeting arangements.

Providing confidential administrative support to ensure divisional operations are maintained for Transportation and Environmental Services functions.
The greatest challenge of this position is to successfully manage multiple projects with extremely tight, inflexible deadlines with frequent interruptions.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Administration or related field;
- Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum two years’ experience in an Administrative role, preferably in a Municipality or Government setting;
- The position requires strong customer service skills and a keen interest in assisting others;
- Strong communication, time management, computer, and organizational skills are required;
- The individual must have the ability to deal with the public and staff in a fast-paced environment;
- Must have the ability to work well both independently and as a member of the team while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
More Details
The hours of work are 35 hours a week Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; the wage for this position is $31.02 per hour.
The City of Cold Lake provides a competitive compensation package to successful candidates, including an exceptional benefits plan, pension plan, and a variety of developmental opportunities.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
