Description of our Organization

Recycla is an impact-driven, women-led enterprise on a mission to address plastic

pollution through long-lasting behaviour change, community empowerment for local

recycling, and innovation for material circularity. www.recycla.ca | @recycla.ca

Responsibilities and deliverables

  • Learn to design with sustainable, recycled plastic materials.
  • Prototype user-centered products using tools like Figma, Fusion 360, or Rhino.
  • Test and refine designs based on user and stakeholder feedback.
  • Prepare design specs and assets for production handoff.
  • Translate designs into manufacturable components suited for recycled plastic.
  • Help operate in-house equipment (CNC, shredder, sheet press) for prototyping and small-batch production.

Duration:

Week of September 2 - Week of November 9, 2025 and Week of January 12, 2026

  • Week of March 30, 2026 (2 x 12 weeks)

-Hours: 360 hours (15 hours/week)
