IT Website & SharePoint Intranet Developer
About the role
Position Summary:
Metis Family Services (MFS) is seeking an agile IT WordPress Website & SharePoint Intranet Developer for a 4-month, fully on-site, contract. Using Divi, we are looking for a new public website presence. Design, configuration, and security will be essential. The second project will be to develop an organizational intranet within our SharePoint. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of web development experience, strong SharePoint intranet skills, and hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365 tools. If your IT skills are diversified, you enjoy working in a high paced work environment, and you are interested in a creative challenge, this term opportunity is for you.
Reports to: IT Manager
Objectives:
Website Development
- Design and develop a modern, responsive, accessible WordPress website using templates.
- Familiarity with Divi template would be an asset as we will be building the website using Divi.
- Ensure the site is secure, scalable, user-friendly, and optimized for performance.
- Side design will align with internal
- Configure hosting, backups, security practices, and core site infrastructure.
- Website timeline expectations are two weeks.
Intranet Development
- Plan, design, and build a user-friendly SharePoint intranet that integrates with the website where required.
- Configure site collections, libraries, metadata, navigation, and content structures.
- Set up proper permissions, governance, and security controls following best practices.
- Build a scalable, intuitive intranet aligned with MFS branding and organizational needs.
- Use Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power Pages to build workflows and integrated components.
- Intranet timeline expectations are two to three months.
Documentation:
- Create documentation and provide knowledge transfer to the internal IT department.
- Documentation timeline is two to three weeks.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- 3–4 years of professional web development experience, with a portfolio of completed websites.
- Strong proficiency with WordPress and templates.
- Hands-on experience developing SharePoint Online intranets.
- Solid understanding of SharePoint architecture, libraries, metadata, navigation, and permissions.
- Experience integrating SharePoint and website components.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools: Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages.
- Familiarity with content strategy and visual design.
- Strong troubleshooting, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Process-oriented approach with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities to work on-site with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Hourly rate: $55 – 65$ / hour
- Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 4:30 PM (35 hours/week).
