Role Description This full-time, on-site Audio Visual Technician role is based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Audio Visual Technician will install, configure, and maintain AV systems, including displays, projectors, lighting controls, sound systems, and video conferencing equipment in a range of commercial and institutional environments. Daily responsibilities include performing system tests, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, supporting system upgrades, and ensuring all installations meet safety and quality standards. The role also involves collaborating with project managers and other team members, interpreting technical drawings, assisting with client training on equipment use, and providing post-installation support as needed.
Qualifications
Ability to work with and support Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including integration and maintenance. Strong Troubleshooting skills for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving AV and connectivity issues. Experience with Video Conferencing platforms and related hardware setup and configuration. Knowledge of Lighting controls and Projectors, including installation, alignment, and calibration. Familiarity with cabling, signal flow, and basic networking concepts relevant to AV installations. Comfort reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and clients. Knowledge of industry leading brands such as Crestron, Extron, Shure, QSC, Biamp and others Ability to lift and handle equipment, work on-site, and adhere to safety standards. Previous experience in AV installation or a related technical field; relevant certifications are an asset. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within the Greater Toronto Area, if required.
