Reporting to the Foreman, the Flagger is responsible for controlling and directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around active earthworks construction sites. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe work environment for crews, subcontractors, and the public.

How You’ll Add Value

  • Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Set up, reposition, and dismantle traffic control devices, signage, and barricades
  • Control and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic through construction and earthworks zones using approved signals and procedures
  • Protect workers and the public by identifying hazards and warning oncoming traffic
  • Communicate clearly with crew members, equipment operators, and other flaggers using hand signals, two-way radios, or other approved communication methods
  • Assist trucks and heavy equipment entering and exiting the work site safely
  • Support general labour tasks on site as required to assist the earthworks crew

What You Bring

  • 1+ years of experience in a civil construction or earthworks environment
  • Valid Flagger / Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Physically able to lift and carry up to 40lbs in various weather conditions
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
  • Strong understanding of job-site hazards and a commitment to safe work practicesd
  • Willing to travel and work out of town for short, fixed-term periods, as needed

Note: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing and Fit for Work Testing will be required.
