SCADA TECHNOLOGIST (PERMANENT, FULL-TIME) Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, sports, recreation and arts amenities. Duties The West Vancouver Engineering & Transportation Department requires a permanent full-time SCADA Technologist with a passion for technical field and office work related to instrumentation and control systems. The duties of the position will include, but are not limited to:

Ÿ Planning, design, operation, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of remote data collection and control systems (SCADA system);

Ÿ Instrumentation specification, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting;

Ÿ Revision of technical drawings & specifications to ensure each project meets applicable standards;

Ÿ Performing root cause failure analysis and investigations on equipment failures and trouble issues with a strong aptitude in electrical/instrumentation and controls;

Ÿ Assistance in the development of implementation strategies to expand and improve the SCADA network;

Ÿ Preparation and management of a variety of materials, such as reports, plans, drawings, records and databases, correspondence and work orders related to the work; and,

Ÿ Coordination and response to technical inquiries independently or in conjunction with municipal staff, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

This position requires recent, related experience supplemented by a degree or diploma in a relevant discipline such as electrical engineering technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration with EGBC, ASTTBC or a BC Certificate of Electrical Qualification preferred. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required. Experience programming Motorola RTUs, Allen-Bradley PLCs, GE iFix, VTSCADA, as well as networking and radio communications experience considered an asset.
