About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Elkford, the Project Planner will support major builds and repairs, planning and coordinating around shutdowns and tight timelines.
There are two (2) vacancies for this position.
Location: Elkford, BC. Housing is available.
Salary: $90,000 per annum.
Work arrangement: 7x7 schedule rotation, working from the Elkford branch and customer site(s).
What you’ll do:
- Plan, organize and direct operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable performance.
- Build branch capability by implementing best-practice programs and mentoring teams.
- Drive results in profitability, productivity, cost control, compliance, and safety.
- Maintain a strong customer focus by improving fleet availability and service delivery.
- Resolve customer issues effectively and follow through to ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate across departments and with factory partners to address challenges and identify growth opportunities.
- Escalate critical product or downtime issues to senior leadership when required.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in a technical trade or business discipline, combined with management or financial training. Other combinations of education and experience may also be considered. Additional qualifications include:
- Prior experience in mining, heavy industrial, or equipment operations.
- Ability to drive results through others using influence and finding “win-win” solutions.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, resources, and performance outcomes.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, even in complex or ambiguous situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel and Gantt charting).
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence across all levels of the organization.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Customer-focused approach and commitment to safety and quality.
