Position Details
Reporting to the Manager, Caretaking Services, this position is responsible for janitorial work (i.e. floor scrubbing, carpet cleaning, floor refinishing, and general cleaning) recycling; assisting with the completion of minor maintenance projects, operating cleaning equipment (i.e. polishers, auto scrubbers, burnishers, and other cleaning equipment), apartment cleaning; adhering to standard operating procedures and safe work practices. The successful candidate will be working 18.75 hours per week minimum.
Position Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and at least 12 months of related work experience. We are looking for high energy individuals who can demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

Effective English reading, verbal and written communication skills at the appropriate level for the position

Reliable, positive, and detail oriented with excellent time management skills

Experience with heavy duty cleaning procedures and commercial cleaning equipment
-
Current WHMIS certification is an asset
-
Ability to perform physically demanding work (i.e. including bending, twisting, climbing stairs, pushing, and pulling, regular lifting of 10 kg and occasional lifting of 25 kg) in a safe and efficient manner

A proven ability to maintain effective working relationships and provide quality customer service

Standard first aid and CPR certification is desired

The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$3,135.00 - $3,432.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$3,135.00 - $3,729.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 3)
