Addictions and Mental Health Access 24/7 with Recovery Alberta offers a centralized and integrated intake using a front door location at the Edmonton Community Health Hub North. Reporting to the Care Manager, the Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RN/RPN) functions in the context of a multi-disciplinary team that provides quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addictions and Mental Health. About Access 24/7: Access 24/7 is a single point of contact for Recovery Alberta and Covenant addiction and mental health community services. The range of services include: assessment, crisis intervention, system navigation, and stabilization services to the residents of the City of Edmonton and suburban areas. Access will conduct triage, screening and assessment in order to best match an individuals’ need(s) to services and programs. Access 24/7 offers a wide range of services, as indicated, which offer the least intrusive and most appropriate services to clients and their families whether that be within clinic, community or client's home, which are based on the needs identified. As the RN/RPN, you will be required to provide intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, medication administration, case management and treatment.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58/hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with Recovery Alberta /UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience. A minimum of 3 years direct crisis experience, preferably in a community setting. Formal clinical training in triage, intervention, stabilization and case management skills, preferably in a community setting. Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments. Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license as work-related travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated ability to work well with a range of community and agency stakeholders as well as clients and families.
