About the Opportunit
yOur client is a global industrial manufacturer delivering a significant portfolio of major capital investment projects across North America .They are seeking two experienced, French-speaking Engineering Managers to support large-scale industrial projects in Quebec. These positions will act as the Owner’s Engineering Representative, providing technical leadership and engineering governance throughout project development and execution while managing external engineering partners .This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys influencing project outcomes from the owner’s perspective rather than producing detailed engineering designs

The Ro
leReporting into the Capital Projects organisation, you will provide engineering leadership across major industrial projects from Front End Loading through project executio n.Rather than leading a large internal design team, your primary responsibility will be managing external Engineering Service Providers, ensuring engineering quality, technical compliance, schedule performance and successful project deliver y.You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project Engineers and Project Controls professionals throughout the project lifecycl
e.

iesAct as the Owner’s Engineering Manager on major capital projec ts.Manage and coordinate external Engineering Service Provide rs.Lead multidisciplinary engineering activities across the proje ct.Review engineering designs, specifications and technical deliverabl es.Ensure engineering quality, consistency and compliance with applicable standar ds.Support project development through FEL1, FEL2, FEL3 and executi on.Challenge engineering assumptions and provide technical directi on.Facilitate design reviews, constructability reviews and value engineering activiti es.Coordinate interfaces between engineering, project management and constructi on.Monitor engineering schedules, deliverables, risks and technical decisio ns.Ensure engineering activities align with project scope, budget and schedu le.Communicate effectively with French- and English-speaking stakeholders, contractors and site tea

Requirem
entsFluency in both French and English is essent ial.Extensive experience managing engineering activities on major industrial capital proje cts.Previous experience overseeing external engineering consultants, EPC contractors or Engineering Service Provid ers.Strong understanding of Front End Loading or stage-gate project delivery methodolog ies.Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and deliverab les.Strong technical judgement and the ability to challenge engineering recommendati ons.Experience working in an Owner’s Engineering, Owner’s Representative or client-side project environment is strongly prefer red.Strong stakeholder management and communication ski lls.Ability to operate effectively in a complex, multinational project organisat ion.Engineering degree or equivalent relevant technical qualificat ion.Candidates who do not possess professional-level French language capability will not be considered for these positi

ProfileThe ideal candidate will be a senior, French-speaking engineering professional with a strong background in major industrial capital pr ojects.They will have experience representing an asset owner, supervising third-party engineering companies and ensuring external providers deliver technically compliant, practical and commercially appropriate engineering sol utions.Previous experience within aluminium, smelting, steel, mining, metals processing or another heavy industrial environment would be particularly re
levant.
