Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Site Inspector Electrical to join the Project Delivery Group supporting our Water team in the Mississauga location on a contract houlry basis.
In this role, you will be required to work on multi-disciplinary projects and ensure the contractor's work complies with design and specifications. This role is site based at various pump station locations within the City of Toronto, on site.

As the successful candidate, you will:

Assist in municipal infrastructure site inspection (water and wastewater infrastructure, watermains / sewers including tunneling and micro-tunneling and collection systems).

Inspect contractors' work for conformity to plans, specifications and regulations.
-
Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered and take corrective actions as needed.

Liaise with the contractor, utility agencies, sub-consultants, and client, as well as handling all public relations.

Attend and participate in construction progress meetings
-
Assist with Contract Administration.

Arrange for geotechnical services and material testing, quality control inspections.
-
Prepare monthly payment certificates and contract change orders.
-
Construction scheduling and monitoring.
-
Start-up and commission the works and ensure compliance with Ministry of Labour (Ontario) guidelines.
-
Preparation of daily and weekly progress reports.
-
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites with authority to issue stop work orders.
-
Liaise with regulatory agencies, utility companies, residents and other stakeholders with respect to construction activities.

Any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager on the project
You bring to the role:
- A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University or College or holding Electrician License.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in municipal engineering construction.
- Knowledge of water treatment and/or wastewater treatment facility construction an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code.
- Must possess sound judgement; strong organizational, administrative, observational and problem-solving skills; effective interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of computer utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Working at Heights, Confined space, First Aid and WHMIS training.
- MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle.
