Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning central and southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. Our services include uniformed guard, mobile response and support, by-law enforcement and identification services. We are currently seeking a Client Service Representative – Safety Services to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director Specialty Services, the Client Service Representative is responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring a high level of H&S compliance at our client sites. The position also involves making product recommendations based on customer needs, upholding professional standards, and performing additional duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Job type: Full-time permanent

  • Reports to: Senior Director Specialty Services

  • Anticipated start date: Immediate

  • Hours of work: 8 am-4 pm - Monday to Friday – On Demand

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers

  • Respond to client enquiries and schedule appointments for service

  • Inspect first aid kits and first aid rooms for regulatory compliance

  • Inspect AED units to confirm proper operation

  • Replenish supplies, replace expired or damaged products as required

  • Service safety equipment requiring periodic maintenance

  • Recommend new products or increased allotments based on customer needs

  • Ensure compliance with OHSA requirements

  • Maintain professional standards of appearance and conduct

  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a customer service role

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities

  • Joint Health & Safety (JH&S) Level One Certification

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with a clear driving record

  • Capable of collaborating in a team setting and performing duties independently or remotely without supervision

  • MUST be eligible for Federal Reliability security clearance

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is primarily conducted at various client sites across the service area.

  • Daily travel is required using a company-provided vehicle.

  • Inspections are performed indoors in office, industrial, and institutional settings, with occasional outdoor exposure when accessing facilities.

  • Duties involve walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting (typically under 25 lbs).

  • Work is generally scheduled during regular business hours, though flexibility may be needed to meet client requirements.

  • Tasks are often performed independently, with regular reporting to a supervisor or team.

  • Frequent client interaction requires strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Adherence to company safety protocols and vehicle use policies is required.

As a front-line representative of our company and client’s site you must be highly reliable, work well under pressure, able to work with minimal supervision, have the ability to multitask and be a professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times.
