Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to assist with accounting, compilation, review, and tax engagements for owner-managed businesses and corporations.
Key responsibilities include
- Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assisting with year-end working papers and financial statements
- Preparing GST/PST returns, payroll filings, and other information returns
- Preparing personal and corporate income tax returns
- Communicating with clients and maintaining complete client files
- Supporting senior team members with tax and advisory work
- Assisting with other accounting and administrative duties as required
This is a hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC, with regular in-office attendance required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
- Foundational knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Enrollment in, or intention to pursue, the CPA Professional Education Program is an asset
- Previous public practice, bookkeeping, tax, or assurance experience is an asset
- Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset but is not required
Preferred Software Experience
Experience with TaxCycle, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, and CaseWare Working Papers is preferred.
