About the role
About The Opportunity Public Sector client has an immediate need for a Human Resources Staffing Coordinator to manage and coordinate multiple staffing actions from initiation through Letters of Offer, ensuring alignment with the Public Service Employment Act and Government of Canada HR policy requirements. The role requires a strong understanding of GoC staffing documentation, tracking, liaison functions, and briefing requirements to support decision-making and expedited staffing execution.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Task #1: Staffing Action Execution and Compliance
- Support the Deputy G6 in validating, preparing, and completing all required documentation to initiate staffing actions including competitions, priority referrals, and non-advertised appointments
- Draft, review, and finalize staffing paperwork including Statements of Merit, Selection Board Reports, and rationale documentation to ensure compliance with the PSEA and GoC/DND staffing policies
- Coordinate preparation and release of Letters of Offer and secure required approvals.
Task #2: Coordination and Reporting
- Act as the primary liaison between the G6 Directorate, central Canadian Army HR services, and classification/compensation units
- Establish and maintain real-time tracking systems to monitor competition progress and status.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress reports and briefing notes identifying process status, risks, and mitigation recommendations
Task #3: Candidate and Onboarding Support
- Coordinate communication with candidates for assessments, interviews, security follow-ups, and offers
- Support initial onboarding logistics to ensure a smooth transition to active employment
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
- Relevant education and training suitable for senior staffing support within the Government of Canada
- Minimum of three years recent experience within the last five years providing administrative and coordination support for full-cycle Public Servant staffing actions in a Government of Canada department or agency
- Demonstrated experience working with PSEA, Statements of Merit, Selection Board Reports, and Letters of Offer
- Minimum of three years recent experience serving as a primary liaison with central HR services, including Classification, Compensation, or Staffing functions
- Experience creating tracking systems and preparing briefing notes and status reports for Director or Deputy-level leadership
- Strong English Essential: Intermediate oral, comprehension, and written levels
- Valid security clearance at the level of Secret Level II
