About the role
Software Developer (Front-End / VBA / SQL)
Location Onsite/Hybrid ( Toronto, Ontario) 4 days onsite and 1 day remote
Design, develop, and maintain software solutions to automate operational processes. Build and enhance front-end applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Develop backend functionality using VBA. Create, optimize, and maintain SQL Server databases, queries, and stored procedures. Develop and maintain Access databases and Excel macros. Integrate applications using API methods. Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Conduct code reviews and maintain coding best practices. Present completed solutions and functionality to stakeholders. Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications.
Required Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 8+ years of overall software development experience. 5+ years of hands-on coding and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
Strong experience with
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBA, SQL Server (query optimization and stored procedures) Access Excel (Macros) API integration and development
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Agile environments. Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence. Code review experience. Banking or financial services industry experience. Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred).
