JOB OVERVIEW

Member of the production control group, the Production Controller is responsible for overseeing the production control function within a production cell of the Maintenance, Repair, and Exchange (MRE) operations. The Production Controller serves as the primary accountable person for their assigned production lines to ensure builds are started and completed on time in line with quality standards and customer requirements. The Production Controller will have the authority to reprioritize production and any support resources as necessary to meet the schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the production cell’s primary accountable person to ensure modules/engines are started and completed on time, with the authority to reprioritize resources as necessary to meet the schedule.
  • Define and document the specific criteria and tollgates required for each step of the production cycle to ensure readiness for engine and module builds.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, planning, engineering, supply chain, piece part repair, quality assurance) to ensure all materials, resources, and documentation are prepared and available ahead of the scheduled build date.
  • Establish a timeline for tollgate reviews and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of all prerequisites.
  • Lead daily tollgate meetings to assess readiness, identify gaps, and implement recovery actions as needed to maintain schedule.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on tollgate status, readiness levels, and any issues impacting the build schedule
  • Track and monitor the production cell key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Partner with Asset Management and relevant business units to monitor cost, identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for production-related inquiries, ensuring effective communication and alignment on company priorities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, industrial management, operations management, or related field required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in production control, operations management, or a related role.
  • Proven experience in driving cross-functional collaboration.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of production control systems, ERP systems (e.g., Quantum), and other manufacturing software.
