Job Summary
Fraser Health is responsible for the delivery of hospital and the Casual – EEG Technologists I role at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre located in Abbotsford, B.C.

Detailed Overview
Performs various electroneurophysiological tests including EEG tests and Recording for Carotid Endarterectomy; evaluates test results and provides test information for interpretation by the medical staff. Performs supply and equipment maintenance, maintains procedure manual and workload measurement statistics/information.
Responsibilities
- Conducts and records EEG tests on patients by operating digital equipment, adjusting equipment during test processes and taking appropriate measurements.
- Formulates technical preliminary reports by analyzing recordings, describing abnormal manifestations and forwarding impressions to the Neurologists.
- Prepares for patient test by receiving requisitions, reviewing case history, obtaining patient history, explaining procedure, attaching electrodes and monitoring patient comfort.
- Sets‑up and monitors Carotid Endarterectomy during OR procedures and advises the Surgeon of any changes.
- Ensures equipment is functioning correctly and reports any problems to Biomed; cleans machine electrodes; calibrates equipment.
- Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and equipment; provides input into capital equipment acquisitions and budget information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Graduation from a recognized program in Electroneurophysiology Technology plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Eligible for registration with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CBRET) and/or the Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC).
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to organize work.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
