The role of the Wedding Sales Manager is key to driving our continued success in the wedding and events market by converting meaningful client connections into booked celebrations and exceptional experiences across our portfolio.
Please note, the successful candidate must be available to work weekends.
What you'll be doing:
- Present and promote a portfolio of luxury Hotel properties and exclusive winery partnerships located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, tailoring packages to best suit the unique vision of each Couple
- Actively respond to inquiries, book, contract and increase Wedding Business, ensuring personal revenue goals are achieved or exceeded
- Contribute to a marketing plan and revenue budget for approval by the Vice-President of Sales & Marketing on an annual basis to determine business objectives for the following year
- Collaborate with a Wedding Sales Coordinator who will provide administrative support, allowing your focus to be on the sales cycle
- Plan for and attend industry events such as wedding shows and industry networking events to generate new business and increase brand visibility
- Facilitate the smooth transition of a booked event to our event planning department for execution and work collaboratively with the Event Operations teams at each location
- Stay current on industry trends and competitor offerings in order to share new ideas to elevate the guest experience and stay competitive in the luxury market
- Conduct thorough post-event reviews to ensure all culinary elements and venue services exceeded client expectations, and swiftly addresses any discrepancies or service enhancements required
- Continuously meet and exceed established up-selling and sales goals
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties products and services along with all exclusive offsite wedding partners and their offerings
- Suggest additional product and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
- Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services
- Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs
- Steady weekend work is required in order to accommodate Client venue tours
- Travel within the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake to our various venue partners
- All other duties as assigned
- Complete weekly and monthly marketing and business reports with respect to inquiries, booked revenues and sales efforts
- Prepare monthly forecasts to indicate wedding event revenues and compares actual to projected budget figures
- Plan and lead venue tours that reflect our elevated service standards and that will translate to converted event bookings
- Prioritize timely and personalized follow-ups with prospective Couples to maintain interest, build trust, and progress the inquiry through the booking process to contract signature
- Diligently track event inquiries through the sales cycle, identifying reasons for any lost business
- Continuously refine sales strategies and enhance the client journey across all venues
What you'll bring to the team:
- Minimum 3 years of sales-related experience - preferably in luxury hotel, wedding, or tourism industry
- Proven ability to negotiate in a diplomatic, tactful and professional manner.
- Experience in assessing the needs of Clients, objection handling, and closing sales
- Strong understanding of wedding event planning including catering (on-site/off-site)
- Reliable transportation to meet clients at property and partner venue visits
- Strong knowledge of the Niagara Region
- Proficient in currency conversion specifically with Canadian to U.S. currencies an asset.
