About the role

Since launching in 2019, CapIntel has been on a mission to provide magical financial moments for all: investors, wealth professionals, and our customers.

Our innovative proposal generation platform transforms how financial professionals compare, discuss, and present investment options, empowering clients to make informed decisions. We pride ourselves on revolutionizing an outdated process with a product that's adopted 4x more than previous solutions. One executive called CapIntel "the most intuitive platform I've used in almost 20 years in financial services."

As one of Canada's fastest-growing wealthtech companies, CapIntel is expanding at an unprecedented pace. Our relentless commitment to innovation drives us to build a dynamic team, strengthening our ability to impact the wealth industry landscape in 2025 and beyond.

About The Role We're looking for a Revenue Accounting Manager to shape how CapIntel recognizes, reports, and optimizes revenue as we scale our SaaS business. You'll own the end-to-end revenue process, from contract review to board-ready reporting, ensuring our financial data is accurate, actionable, and audit-ready. This role partners closely with Sales, RevOps, FP&A, and Customer Success to translate business activity into clear financial outcomes, support new product launches, and strengthen our revenue foundation for growth.

What You'll Do

  • Own revenue recognition under Canadian accounting standards (ASPE) for subscription, usage-based, and professional services revenue
  • Review customer contracts and order forms to identify performance obligations, variable consideration, and revenue timing
  • Prepare and review monthly revenue entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
  • Partner with RevOps and FP&A to align revenue across actuals, forecasts, and SaaS metrics (ARR, CARR, deferred revenue)
  • Lead revenue workflows in Maxio and supporting tools, ensuring clean handoffs from Sales to RevOps to Finance
  • Improve documentation, controls, and audit trails around revenue processes; support system implementations or enhancements
  • Prepare revenue-related schedules for reviews, tax filings, and support external auditors with technical analysis and data requests
  • Manage commodity tax compliance and filings (GST/HST/QST), and support cross-border tax considerations in collaboration with external advisors

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as a Revenue Accounting Manager or similar role in a SaaS environment, with hands-on ownership of revenue recognition and reporting
  • Deep expertise with Maxio and revenue automation tools, including workflow design and process optimization
  • Strong understanding of SaaS revenue metrics (ARR, CARR, deferred revenue), O2C, AR, and billing processes
  • Demonstrated experience managing commodity tax compliance (GST/HST/QST); exposure to US compliance and cross-border tax issues is an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems and automation tools
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills; able to translate complex financial data for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The Interview Process

  • Round 1: 30-minute video interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
  • Round 2: 60-minute video interview with the Senior Accounting Manager
  • Round 3: 45-minute video interview with a member of the Finance team
  • Round 4: 60-minute presentation to a panel of cross-functional stakeholders

About CapIntel

Software Development
51-200

Since we entered the market in October 2019, our mission has been to elevate finance to build wealth for all. To achieve this, we are transforming the way investment services professionals work, so they are equipped to deliver better results for their clients.

As a Financial Advisor, the decisions you make have a lasting impact on your clients and their ability to achieve their financial goals. You must be able to assess and compare investment options efficiently to ensure you’re selecting the right portfolio to suit your client’s asset allocation. Today, however, the tedious, largely manual processes in the sales cycle can hinder your acuteness to the market, changing regulations, and client goals. This means not being able to get the information you need; making it harder to analyze funds and potentially leading to missed financial goals for your clients.

We’ve developed a product to change that. CapIntel is a modernized platform that bridges sales process gaps and stamps out inefficiencies so advisors can attend to their clients’ needs more effectively and help them enhance their financial future. We empower each level of the firm’s sales force with the tools needed to get the job done, including modelling investment comparisons, preparing compelling proposals, and tracking compliance checkpoints. In short, our product facilitates an ecosystem that reflects the workflows of each wealth enterprise.

Diversity builds better teams, and we encourage individuals of all backgrounds to reach out to us if you're interested in working together.
