About the role
Summary:
Under the supervision of Engineering manager, the incumbent will provide support to senior designers in the ongoing projects.
Responsibilities:
- All aspects of Mechanical Design
- Translate and organize CAD data.
- Read and decipher GD&T prints.
- Prepare and interpret technical drawings, calculations, customer standards, and specifications.
- 3D modelling & conceptual design to create multiple iterations of design prototypes using CAD.
- Create mechanical designs on small to medium-sized tooling.
- Generate and organize all necessary raw materials and purchase item BOMs.
- Detailing and surfacing on medium to large-sized tools.
- Adhere to all company and ISO standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent certificate (GED) is required.
- Post-secondary education or certification in a related field is preferred.
- 2-5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer in a manufacturing setting is considered an asset.
- Sound skills in CAD
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills
