About the role
Logistics Technician
As a Logistics Technician, you will lead the ongoing logistics support functions coordinating activities of distribution warehouse with activities. Such as helping the flow of shipments both inbound and outbound in the manner that is most cost effective. Routes outbound delivered loads and inbound back-hauls. Utilizes logistics software. Responsible for tracking raw materials, managing communications associated with logistics distribution of material.
Location: Mississauga, ON
Salary: $51,200 to $85,400

Your Challenge:
- Ensure all work is performed according to the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Prepare export documentation for shipments via air, ocean and ground (B13).
- Arrange transportation for shipments via air, ocean and ground.
- Arrange pickup along with import documentation from various suppliers internationally.
- Approve freight and broker invoices.
- Apply for and process Export Permits.
- Arrange for pickups/shipments via internal dispatches for local and International shipments.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and apply for Commercial Bill of Ladings (CBLs).
- Obtain proof of delivery for all shipments.
- Follows every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed following the Health & Safety procedures. Immediately report accidents and incidents and participate in their investigations.
What You Bring
- 5 years previous logistics experience in manufacturing environment.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- MRP Business system experience.
- Export regulations, Letters of Credit and Export Permits.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in Mil-spec packaging/labels (2073).
- Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
- Ensure dangerous goods packaging and documentation is in accordance with regulations.
- Submit receiving reports where needed for DFAS/Canadian Commercial Shipments.
- Registered users of various government websites.
- Post-Secondary Education (certificate or diploma).
