About the role

Purpose The BI Architect reports into the Manager, Analytics.

The BI Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data structures that support organizational reporting and analysis. Working with Business Data Analysts, they will consider end user requirements in designing business intelligence solutions that will deliver key insights in an effective, automated, and reliable way.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • In concert with the Business Data Analyst, identify appropriate sources of Data Warehouse data
  • Build and maintain BI Architecture in relation to definitions of data content, understanding data flow between source systems and reports
  • Set standards and best practices together with other architects
  • Build logical data models for BI reporting and analytic solutions
  • Architect, design, build and maintain solutions to meet enterprise business needs for the data warehouse and data mart environments
  • Monitor and investigate new versions, technologies and techniques as well as advise management on adoption strategies.
  • Ensure that BI Sprint solution delivery is adhering to architecture and development standards
  • Implementation of Microsoft Power BI data models
  • Develop, document and execute test plans
  • Resolve issues and inconsistencies in the data
  • Searching for causes of incompatibility between the warehouse and other systems
  • Collaborate with IT to tune the analytics environment for optimal performance

Qualifications Education / Certifications / Licenses

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience

  • Microsoft Power BI certification

Experience

  • 6+ years of overall experience within the Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing space
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server and SSIS
  • Experience with data modeling and metadata management
  • Experience defining data and user class security for reports and packages
  • Experience translating business requirements into functional requirements, and translating those into reporting objects and reporting data requirements
  • Experience in design patterns, development methodologies, delivery models etc.
  • Solid experience in BI and Data Warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies, architectures, and technical standards
  • Knowledgeable in new and emerging business intelligence technologies
  • Understanding of Salesforce Data Model a strong asset
  • Travel and Hospitality Industry experience an asset

  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities, reprioritize tasks, work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prepare and deliver comprehensive, clear, and professional documentation.

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is $82,000 to $102,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
  • Eligible for Armstrong Collective’s discretionary bonus program
