About the role
- Provide individual and group recreational activities that support resident well‑being.
- Participate in planning, designing, developing, and delivering diverse recreation programs.
- Assess and provide feedback to ensure programs meet residents' physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Complete documentation using PointClickCare and ActivityPro.
- Foster a positive, resident‑centred environment and contribute to interdisciplinary teamwork.
- 2‑year College Diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or equivalent related experience.
- Previous experience working with individuals with dementia, ideally in a long‑term care setting.
- Current Food Handler's Certificate, can be obtained during employment.
- Strong communication skills in English; French is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively in a resident‑centred long‑term care environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and engage residents.
- Excellent organization, priority‑setting, and time‑management skills.
- Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and skilled in problem‑solving and critical thinking.
- Ability to build and maintain therapeutic relationships with residents.
