Reporting to the Team Lead, as a Product Designer, you’ll help shape the future of Payworks’ workforce management solutions. You’ll transform complex workflows into simple, accessible experiences that empower thousands of businesses and employees across Canada. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll advocate for users at every stage of the product lifecycle, balancing creativity with practicality to deliver products that people trust and enjoy using.

THE ROLE
Research & Discovery

+ Analyze user needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings to uncover opportunities.

  • Conduct Competitive Research to identify what is happening in the completive landscape behaviour and how product designs are affected.
Design & Prototyping

+ Develop user journeys, wireframes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity prototypes that communicate end-to-end solutions.

  • Contribute to our design system by creating reusable, accessible components and documentation.
Validation & Iteration

+ Run usability and user acceptance testing with internal and external users.

  • Use Figma and Maze to create interactive prototypes and gather feedback.
  • Iterate on designs based on testing insights, balancing business goals with user needs.
Design Advocacy & Collaboration

+ Champion accessibility and inclusive design practices across product teams.

  • Participate in design reviews, team rituals, and sprint ceremonies to keep projects aligned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 2+ years of professional experience in UX, UI, or Product Design roles, with a portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking and execution.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in UX/UI, Human-Centered Interaction, or related field.
  • Proven experience in UX, UI, or Product Design, with strong knowledge of usability, accessibility, and design principles.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React/Vue preferred).
  • Experience designing for enterprise SaaS solutions across multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android).
  • Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
