Position: Parts Advisor

Status: Full-Time

Dealership: OpenRoad Auto (TOYN) Limited, O/A NewRoads Toyota Newmarket

PARTS ADVISOR:

An Automotive Parts Advisor plays a critical role in the daily operations of a dealership by managing the sourcing, inventory, and distribution of automotive parts and accessories. They act as the connection between technicians, service advisors, customers, and manufacturers to ensure the right parts are available when needed.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handling parts requirements of customers through counter service and sales.

  • Preparing detailed invoices and customer statements.

  • Assisting with shipping as necessary.

  • Supplying service technicians with parts ordered through parts requisition forms.

  • Answering phone calls on an ongoing basis.

  • Maintaining the inventory and cleanliness of the Parts Department.

  • Verifying receiving shipments by checking orders against packing lists.

  • Assisting in keeping parts clean and shelf section area stocked and orderly.

  • Following up on shortages and expediting through reporting to the Parts Manager.

  • Ensuring accuracy in all transactions, inventory, and procedures.

  • Working in partnership with Store Managers and other employees to maximize store sales and in-store presence.

  • When necessary, helping in the delivery of parts to clients.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses and safety shoes) to be worn at all times when necessary;

  • Performing other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, vehicle systems, inventory processes, and dealership operations.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills with customers, technicians, and vendors.
  • Ability to accurately identify, source, and manage parts using dealership software and manufacturer catalogues.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in ordering, inventory control, and invoicing.
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing technology, priorities, and customer needs.
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented attitude with a commitment to efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
