About ICE
Independent Counselling Enterprises (ICE) supports adults with disabilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives. We provide residential, non-residential, and support home services across Alberta. Our Team Leaders are frontline leaders — working directly with clients while supporting and guiding staff to provide consistent, high-quality care.
Role Summary
As a Team Leader, you will work directly with adults with disabilities while also providing leadership to staff during shifts. You will model best practices, ensure support plans are followed, and help staff manage routines and behaviours. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with clients but is also ready to take on leadership responsibilities and grow into more advanced positions at ICE.

Key Responsibilities
- Guide and support staff during shifts, ensuring consistent, client-centered care
- Work directly with clients on daily routines, personal care, and community activities
- Model best practices for staff, showing how to support respectfully and effectively
- Ensure staff follow support plans and ICE procedures at all times
- Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and communication with supervisors
- Respond calmly to unexpected situations and support staff in managing behaviours
- Encourage teamwork and create a respectful, positive shift environment
- Complete shift reports and documentation accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Experience in community disability services or a related field preferred
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience is an asset
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)
- Basic First Aid with CPR Level A (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and $2M liability insurance required
- Dependable — clients and coworkers can count on you to show up prepared and on time
- Able to communicate clearly with clients, families, and staff
- Organized and detail-oriented, able to guide staff and manage routines
- Able to stay calm and follow ICE procedures in stressful or unexpected situations
