We are now hiring for seasonal positions for the 2026 tourism season!
Positions: Working in our Ticket Office, gift store (Waterfront Gifts & Apparel), or Office.
As a member of our Reservations and Retail team, you will contribute to an outstanding guest experience by providing visitors with information on our Cruises, Trolley Tours, and K-Pass, and completing transactions for tickets, passes, and retail items. You will act as an ambassador for Kingston and be a key part of guests’ experiences in Kingston and the 1000 Islands.

Season: This is a spring-summer-fall seasonal position. The Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises operating season begins in April and ends in October.
Qualifications:

Positive attitude and approach to customer service.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Proficiency in other languages is an asset.

Experience using Point-of-Sale software.
-
Competency using MS Office.
-
Previous experience in customer service, retail, tourism or related field.

Heavy lifting and other demanding physical work are occasionally required.
Responsibilities:
Ticket Office, Waterfront Gifts & Apparel:

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all KDG products.
-
Use ticketing software to create, edit and finalize reservations and retail purchases for guests in an accurate and efficient manner.

Take payment and process through POS system, accurately balancing end of day reports.
-
Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs: ask questions, exceed expectations, create an outstanding experience.
-
Work collaboratively to promote destination experiences and meet sales goals/targets.
-
Help guests with browsing and selecting merchandise.
-
Maintain a clean, organized, fully functional environment for guests/staff.
-
Facilitate communication between vessels and other reservations staff.
-
Participate in dock operations including management of vessel boarding lines.
Office:

Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all KDG products.

Use ticketing software to create, edit and finalize reservations for guests in an accurate and efficient manner.

Assist guests via phone, email and live chat.

Anticipate and respond to guests’ needs: ask questions, exceed expectations, create an outstanding experience.

Work collaboratively to promote destination experiences and meet sales goals/targets.

Assist with daily office administrative tasks: creation of manifests, printing/stocking guest-facing materials, facilitating requests for public, tour and OTA reservations, and other administrative duties as assigned to assist sales/revenue department.

Facilitate communication between vessels and other reservations staff.

The Trolley route covers all of Kingston's historic old town and shopping district, as far east as Fort Henry and as far west as the Kingston Penitentiary. In the summer season the Trolley makes nine stops at our most popular visitor destinations, including Fort Henry, the Penitentiary Museum, and Queen's University; you can hop off at any stop, stay for as long as you like, and then hop back on and continue your tour.
