JOB SUMMARY
As a Mountain Crew Team Lead your job is to act as a leader within Mountain Crew Attractions Team to direct and facilitate daily mountain operations alongside supporting the Duty Managers and Mountain Crew Supervisors. Mountain Crew is responsible for assisting all departments with daily operations and special events, and are expected to deliver a safe and exceptional experience for all mountain guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Adhering to all operational and safety procedures and conducting daily safety briefing/toolbox talks Assisting other departments with manual tasks, including the set up and tear down of materials for events and daily operations as one of the key point people for events, such as Peak of Christmas. Supporting in establishing and maintaining all aspects of Winter Mountain and Attractions Crew operations; including but not limited to, Sliding Zone, Skate Rink, Sleigh Ride, Ice Rink, Fire Pit, Light Walk, snow removal and maintaining clear pathways.
Cleaning up or assisting trade workers with special tasks
Assisting with transport and providing labour for various jobs Training, coaching and overseeing Mountain Crew staff to maintain a high standard of customer service Ensuring adequate staffing levels for efficient operation. Ensuring daily log sheets and checks are completed for each mountain attraction and applicable machines including daily checks Ensuring machinery is left in good working condition and perform small repairs to ice rink, snowblowers, line trimmers, bobcats, lawn mowers etc. leaf blowers, line trimmers, Coordinate daily breaks, staff locations and daily job lists for Mountain Crew team Coaching and motivating staff to maintain a high standard of customer service Ensuring adequate staffing levels for efficient operation, and covering breaks for Mountain Crew and Transport staff when required Tearing down and setting up of all seasonal signage and attractions and other duties as required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position provides direct supervision to the Mountain Crew team in cooperation with the leadership team including Mountain Crew Supervisors and Mountain Operations Duty Managers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
Enjoy working outdoors and maintaining high service standards during inclement weather conditions Functional knowledge of winter operations Mechanical experience an asset Proficient computer skills Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license Able to lift up to 50 lbs Knowledge of Grouse Mountain policies and procedures an asset Excellent customer service skills Proven leadership abilities Able to work with minimal supervision and work well with others WORKING CONDITIONS Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
