Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Property Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in commercial real estate finance and accounting, with a proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and transactional accounting. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial and accounting operations for commercial real estate, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, AR/AP, and financial analysis.
• Prepare and manage financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Monitor key financial performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Manage hotel-level audits and work with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Provide financial insights to senior leadership to support decisions on hotel acquisitions, dispositions, and operations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial data.
• Lead and mentor a growing accounting team, fostering professional development and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Yardi system.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of property accounting experience, ideally in commercial real estate.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and operational accounting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Property Management Accounting.
• Authorized to work in Canada.
