Title: Youth Care Worker (Overnight Team Support)
**Reports to:**Shift Supervisor / Staffing Managers
**Based at:**SCP Shelter
**Employment:**Full Time
Pay Range:$17.50 - $21 per hour
**Hours:**35+ hours/week (10pm to 8am), 3-month probation and review
**Supporting Contracts:**Ministry of Social Services

Street Culture Project is hiring Youth Care Workers for our emergency youth shelter and peer homes. This is not just a job—it’s a daily opportunity to make a difference.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be at the heart of our Transitional Housing program. SCP Youth Care Workers show up for our youth everyday in meaningful and impactful ways. Supporting, connecting, empowering and advocating will be the cornerstones of your role.
You’ll:
- Build trust-based, professional, boundaried relationships with youth aged 16–21
- Support daily living in transitional housing and life skill development
- Implement case plans and safety strategies
- Document youth interactions, appointments, and incidents
- De-escalate crises and respond to emergencies
What You Bring
This isn’t your average desk job. It’s hands-on, emotionally charged, and deeply human.
We’re looking for someone with:

High school diploma (post-secondary preferred)

Frontline youth work experience (preferred)

Strong communication and documentation skills

Comfort navigating trauma, mental health, and substance use
-
Excellent communication skills
-
The ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
Additional Requirements
- Valid SK Driver’s License with abstract
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance
- Strong time management and documentation skills
- Comfortable using HR systems and Microsoft Office
- Training in CPR/First Aid, ASIST, Crisis Intervention, or Mental Health First Aid is an asset
