Position Summary
The Logistics Analyst supports the company’s logistics operations by analyzing transportation data, coordinating shipments, and identifying opportunities to optimize fleet and carrier performance. This role helps ensure on-time, cost-effective deliveries within the company’s distribution network, working closely with internal teams, external carriers, and other stakeholders. The Logistics Analyst plays a key role in improving logistics performance, meeting customer service requirements, and reducing freight costs.

Responsibilities:
What you’ll do:
Logistics Coordination & Support
- Coordinate and schedule shipments (inbound, outbound, inter-facility) to optimize fleet and carrier utilization.
- Communicate daily with freight vendors to secure equipment and confirm service requirements.
- Use TMS software, ERP (e.g., SAP), and other tools to monitor tender activity, service performance, and freight costs.
- Assist in managing carrier scorecards and performance improvement plans.
- Ensure freight vendor compliance with safety, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
Data & Performance Analysis
- Lead reporting and analytics to monitor freight vendor in-transit status, delivery performance, and on-time violations.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports on logistics KPIs, highlighting risk areas and recommending solutions.
- Analyze shipment data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
- Support logistics budgeting by tracking freight costs per shipment and preparing cost analysis reports.
Process & Compliance
- Support licensing, permitting, and IFTA reporting processes for fleet vehicles.
- Assist in quality control checks to ensure accurate and complete shipments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transportation regulations in Canada and the U.S.
- Document logistics processes and contribute to training materials and SOPs.
Collaboration & Customer Service

- Work closely with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Sales to align logistics operations with business needs.
- Address and help resolve delivery or service issues in coordination with carriers and internal teams.
- Support contingency planning and alternate routing when required.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent work experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.

Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and TMS software.

Knowledge of freight vendor operations, shipping requirements, and compliance standards.

Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Working Conditions

Office or warehouse environment with occasional travel (2–3 trips/year) for site visits and carrier meetings.

May require use of PPE during warehouse visits.

Standard business hours with some flexibility depending on operational needs.
