We are looking for a Senior Storage Specialist to join our Technology Services team. In this senior technical role, you’ll leverage your deep expertise in enterprise storage, backup, and replication technologies to design, maintain, and optimize mission-critical infrastructure that underpins E-Comm’s operations.

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Services, this is a great opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert, mentor junior staff, and help shape our storage and backup architecture to support both current needs and future innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise storage and backup infrastructure, including NetApp Storage, NetBackup, Block & File Storage, S3, VMware VSAN, and disaster recovery/business continuity technologies
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and solutions for complex technical problems affecting storage, backup, and recovery systems
  • Support application storage and recovery requirements (e.g., Databases, Messaging, Hypervisors)
  • Deliver capacity planning, KPI metrics, reporting, and advisory services to internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a subject matter expert for complex projects—contributing to requirements gathering, solution design, and technical architecture
  • Collaborate with vendors, evaluate emerging technologies, and make recommendations for optimization
  • Mentor and coach team members, participate in recruitment activities, and share knowledge to strengthen the team’s capabilities
  • Develop technical strategies, policies, processes, and documentation that promote operational excellence
  • Participate in the on-call rotation, with occasional evening or weekend work

What You Bring

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • At least 5 years of recent, relevant experience in enterprise storage and backup infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of NetApp, NetBackup, VMware VSAN, cloud storage (S3), and disaster recovery/business continuity technologies
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL frameworks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex issues quickly and effectively
  • Project management experience including requirements analysis, estimating, and vendor evaluation
  • Team leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to different audiences
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and guide technical staff
  • Programming ability in languages such as Go, Python, Ruby, or Java is an asset
  • Certification in relevant storage technologies is highly desirable

Security Requirements:

As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is five [5] years.

To qualify for this process, a candidate may either be a Canadian Permanent Resident [PR] or Canadian Citizens. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.

Vaccination Requirements: E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
