Senior Project Manager - Construction Location : Greater Toronto Area (On-site)
Job Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight & Delivery
- Manage all aspects of multiple construction projects from conception to completion.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and scope.
- Lead meetings with clients, architects, designers, trades, and project staff.
- Review and approve scope documents, tender packages, pricing, and contract changes.
- Identify critical paths and develop strategies to keep projects on track.
- Ensure design specifications and shop drawings are reviewed and approved.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, consultants, trades, and site supervisors.
- Procurement & Tendering
- Oversee tender processes: assess bids, negotiate, award contracts, and manage changes.
- Liaise with designers, architects, and clients to review and approve changes with minimal schedule impact.
- Ensure accurate documentation, approvals, drawings, and permits are maintained.
- Support procurement of materials and equipment for project execution.
- Team Development & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of project managers, coordinators, and site staff.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coach team members to meet performance objectives while fostering growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project management (residential/custom homes strongly preferred).
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- PMP/CAPM certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Proven success managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Experience supervising and developing teams.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients, management, and trades.
- Keen eye for detail, scope tracking, and schedule management.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel across the GTA.
