Description Join the passionate, high performing team at the reimagined Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health (the “Foundation”) as our Community Engagement Associate. This role will be key to supporting our strategic initiative to expand our reach and boldly tell our story to elevate the Foundation brand and deepen engagement, fulfilling our purpose to inspire hope and investment in the revolutionary mental health care and research at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (“Ontario Shores”).
As the Associate, you will support the successful execution and delivery of a strategic events program, as well as inspirational stewardship and fundraising activities that actively engage the community and build long-term donor relationships. You are a reliable multi-tasker who is committed to upholding donor-centred fundraising principles. In collaboration with the Marketing & Community Relations Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the coordination of our signature, third party, partnership, and donor recognition events; coordinating traditional and digital marketing activations; as well as supporting event promotion and experiences. Key Accountabilities Events
- Support planning and execution of signature fundraising events, including logistics coordination, RSVP tracking and guest list management, vendor management, volunteer coordination, and day-of-event execution.
- Assist with community fundraising initiatives by liaising with third-party organizers, tracking revenue, and ensuring alignment with Foundation brand standards.
- Coordinate and support donor recognition, stewardship, and cultivation events that deliver a meaningful experience, ensuring thoughtful donor communications, hospitality, and follow-up.
- Support sponsorship and gift-in-kind such as auction items and other donations for events.
- Contribute to the creation and design of event collateral, including invitations, sponsorship packages, press releases, social and digital media content, and post-event reporting that communicates the Foundation’s activities and impact.
- Process event revenue and provide timely and accurate acknowledgement to donors and sponsors.
Fundraising & Stewardship Support
- Provide administrative support to the team including reception duties, calendar management, meeting coordination, donation processing, expense and budget tracking/processing.
- Execute the Foundation’s social media including content, pages, and posts to grow engagement and following, responding to inquiries and collating analytics and metrics.
- Support the design and preparation of donor proposals, presentations, and customized donor communications and stewardship materials and impact reports.
- Support the curation and development of website content and navigation to optimize user experience and streamline the digital donation journey.
- Coordinate donor and sponsor stewardship touchpoints (thank-you calls, handwritten notes, milestone recognition, etc.) to deepen donor engagement.
- Represent the Foundation at events as an ambassador, providing exceptional guest and donor service.
Key Qualifications & Competencies
- University degree or College diploma in related field
- Two years related work experience in a hospital foundation or other non-profit organization preferred
- Experience working with Raiser’s Edge an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, digital design tools, social, email and web platform experience.
- Demonstrated passion for mental health specifically and healthcare fundraising in general
- Critical thinker with acute attention to detail and proven project and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excited to thrive as part of a small, collaborative and high performing team
- Motivated learner who welcomes feedback and strives for excellence
- Ability to work with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality with regard to donor and governance related matters
- Knowledge of/residence in Durham Region is an asset
Compensation The hiring range for this position is $40,000 - 50,000 commensurate upon experience.
