Head of Infrastructure

We specialize in the development of robust Owner Accounting and Owner Portal software solutions for Condo Hotels, Fractional Hotels, Timeshare Resorts, HOAs, Residence Clubs, and Property Management Companies. Our client base consists mainly of 4- and 5-star Resort hotels located throughout North America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia.
POSITION
We are looking for a Head of Infrastructure to join our team in our office in BC, Canada (remote). You will be responsible for the strategy, deployment, monitoring, and performance of the network infrastructure across all environments. This role will oversee a small team and lead efforts to optimize network performance, ensure security, maintain high availability, and evolve the architecture to support new technologies. This role will work closely with internal teams, partners, and vendors to uphold the highest standards of network reliability and scalability.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architect scalable, secure network solutions to support current and future service offerings.
- Document architectural decisions, project plans, and network design standards.
- Provide Tier 3-level technical expertise and escalation support for complex networking scenarios.
- Develop and maintain reference architectures, best practices, and configuration templates.
- Ensure alignment between business requirements, network strategy, and implementation.
- Contribute to infrastructure roadmaps and long-term planning.
- Collaborate with leadership to assess risk, compliance, and security posture of new designs.
- Participate in incident reviews and post-mortems with a focus on architectural improvements.
- Ensure 24x7 uptime through monitoring systems, incident response protocols, and proactive maintenance.
- Create and manage network capacity plans, forecasting bandwidth and infrastructure needs.
- Collaborate with multiple departments and 3rd party vendors to ensure clients achieve desired outcomes, including identifying potential roadblocks, offering solutions, and providing ongoing support.
- Support the Sales Manager with contract requirements on system security.
- Present information (often technical in nature) to groups (including prospects, clients, support, and sales) with the appropriate degree of formality.
- Provided reports/data on key performance indicators.
- Build and lead an effective and cohesive team.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5+ years of development experience in applications using .NET.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience managing staff and/or projects.
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server Database queries and structure.
- Development experience in .NET, COM, XML and Web Services.
- Strong understanding of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Has the functional and technical skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment.
- Ability to pick up on technical things quickly, and learn new industry, product, or technical knowledge.
- Ability to make good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
- Good problem-solving skills, using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
- Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Experience in setting priorities, spending time on what’s important, while quickly sensing what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal.
- Good Organizational Skills, being able to marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done, sometimes orchestrating multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal.
