Brand and Design Specialist

We lead the institutional Marketing and Recruitment Plan, power the brand strategy and operate key digital marketing channels.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Recruitment, you will coordinate and champion design and brand projects in support of SAIT’s marketing and student recruitment efforts. You are a creative and tactical marketing professional with experience in developing marketing materials that drive customer/student acquisition.
You are a trend-seeker, and more importantly, a trend-setter. Your designs are bold and innovative. As a member of the Marketing team, the Brand and Design Specialists are responsible for designing and managing the creative design and production of SAIT’s major institutional recruitment events and campaigns – both for print and digital channels. You are comfortable designing for digital and traditional media, and you understand the nuances of each. You will develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with campus departments to ensure materials are up-to-date and delivered according to the institution's priorities, requirements and the SAIT academic year.
You have exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to cultivate strong relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders including prospective students, parents, alumni, partners, faculty, staff, and suppliers. Your work reflects a clear passion for excellence, grounded in both meticulous attention to detail and strategic thinking. You are recognized as a community and consensus builder and work to create a collaborative environment leading to extensive stakeholder buy-in and engagement. You are patient when you need to be, and bold when the objectives require it.
The Role
-
- Recruitment and Brand Marketing
- Coordinate and appropriately resource internal and external creative partners
- Identify and help execute photo and video shoots, help identify locations, confirm logistics, recruit talent, and ensure appropriate visuals are brand aligned for institutional use.
- Ensure the SAIT brand, tone, voice and identity are consistently reflected in materials and help educate others about those standards
- Provide guidance on brand standards by responding to inquiries and helping educate internal teams and external vendors/partners on proper brand usage
- Review and approve the application of our visual identity to marketing materials and merchandise designed and produced for other departments to ensure our creative partners are using our guidelines correctly
- Ensure brand guidelines and assets are up-to-date and are adapted for and available on sait.ca
- Provide graphic design and production support for advertising, web graphics and print materials as needed
- Update institutional templates and review brand guidelines on an annual basis
- Maintain the creative services resources database and help maintain SAIT’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) Library
- Stakeholder Services
- Initiate collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups to source and verify content, build copy and creative
- Ensure project planning includes stakeholder input and considerations
- Foster a client-centered approach in all aspects of the work we do, with a focus on transparency and inclusion
Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or Bachelor's in graphic design or visual communications
- 3-5 years work experience required in print and digital asset production such as content development, editing and proofing, project coordination and managing approval processes
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in brand management, design, and print production
Skills Required

- Strong written and verbal communications skills, including editing and proofing skills
- Strong understanding of how to effectively develop and produce designs in print and digital formats
- Project management and client services skills, collaborative team member, and able to manage multiple client projects and deliver on deadlines
- Organized and detail-oriented, able to maintain quality control and consistency in the look and feel of SAIT’s institutional publications
- Expert use of Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficient in Figma for design and collaboration
- Good working knowledge of print buying, graphic design and production
- Ability to present publicly to large and small audiences on marketing strategies, trends, and the work that we do
- Working-level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to create compelling visual content for social and digital platforms; experience with video animation is considered an asset
- Ability to present publicly to large and small audiences on marketing strategies, trends, and the work that we do

Salary Range: $62,016.50 - $70,838.30
Hours Per Week: 36.25
