Shipping Associate
Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
**Work Location:**Wallenstein, ON (On-Site)
Compensation:$23.00 - $30.00/hour
Hours of Work: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

What You'll Own:
Shipping Operations & Safety
- Manage on-site loading processes, ensuring materials are secure and loads are visually inspected to meet all safety and shipping requirements
- Perform monthly safety inspections of the shops and yard while strictly adhering to all safety protocols, including working at heights, PPE usage and clear communication with operators, ensuring a safe work environment for everyone
- Identify and resolve loading or supply chain issues calmly to minimize disruptions and maintain on-time dispatch
- Coordinate yard management needs by allocating space for future projects, updating yard map, ensuring that laneways remain clean and clear as well as owning the grading and plowing
- Collaborating with dispatch to load and unload projects from subcontractors and moving projects into allocated yard areas
- Plan and stage shipments to reduce idle time, unnecessary handling, and waste; suggest practical improvements to optimize our shipping processes and yard space.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all shipping documents (packing slips, logs, etc.) are complete, accurate, legible, and updated in our systems promptly after dispatch.
- Complete all shipping QC sheets prior to departure and take clear, compliant photos of finished loads to document condition and quality
- Verify that all items on packing slips are physically accounted for and resolve any documentation gaps or unclear information before the shipment leaves the yard
System Literacy & Collaboration
- Act as a central point of contact for internal teams, drivers, and brokers; proactively share updates on timelines, delays, or shipping details to ensure smooth downstream operations.
- Regularly review system entries for accuracy and escalate recurring issues to the appropriate team to prevent future errors.
Ideal candidates are:
- Experienced in construction environments. You have a solid background in construction and working at heights, and understand the nuances of the job site
- Proficient with heavy machinery. You are skilled in operating telehandlers and have experience directing cranes
- Knowledgeable in rigging. You have experience with rigging practices
- Clear communicators. You maintain professional relationships with carriers and coworkers alike
- Able to understand how your data entry affects the bigger picture and take pride in keeping systems up to date.
- Safety conscious. You understand why procedures exist and consistently follow them to protect yourself and the team.
- Problem Solvers. You don't just spot issues—you analyze them and find the most efficient path forward.
- Resilient and adaptable. You are comfortable working outdoors and remain productive in all weather conditions

About Earthscape Play

We have since received over 50 Awards for playground design & construction, commercial design, landscape design & construction, water feature design-build and lighting design.
PLAYGROUND DIVISION Our goal is to design and build incredible custom playgrounds that open children’s imaginations, stimulate their creativity and challenge their motor development.
Complex and challenging structures, with dynamic features encourage climbing, balancing, jumping, mobility, strength, executive function, imagination and coordination. Risk and independence, failure and mastery, friendship and silence, are all facilitated by our playground designs and our constructed sites.
Our playgrounds are designed and fabricated in our Elmira, Ontario workshop where our experienced designers, crafts people and installation technicians work side-by-side to ensure adherence to strict safety standards while maximizing play potential.
