About the role

Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Driver to join our Home Centre team on a full-time basis at our location in Wainwright, AB . Reporting to the Yard Supervisor.

What you’ll do:

  • Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to deliver outstanding Co-op experiences.
  • Load, haul, and deliver home centre products to customers, ensuring orders are delivered efficiently and on time.
  • Provide efficient and courteous delivery service while maintaining the highest level of customer care.
  • Assist customers in the yard with selecting and loading home building supplies.
  • Follow proper transportation regulations, including applying straps, wrapping pallets, and securing loads.
  • Complete accurate driver reports and ensure bills for accounts and deliveries are correct.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including daily inspections, greasing, and refueling.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory verification processes.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and organization in the yard to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Be familiar with and follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring all equipment is operated safely and responsibly.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays, on a rotational basis.
  • Demonstrate behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-op’s vision, mission, values, brand, and focus on safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • You hold a valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement and can successfully pass a drug and alcohol test, as well as provide a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Picker truck experience is considered an asset.
  • You possess a solid understanding of home centre products and their applications.
  • You are physically capable of repeatedly lifting, stacking, pulling, and carrying items weighing up to 80 lbs on a regular basis.
  • You are action-oriented, customer-focused, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • You demonstrate honesty, integrity, and accountability, and are committed to achieving results and delivering high-quality work.
  • You value building strong relationships and collaborating with others to deliver meaningful solutions, appreciating diverse perspectives to reach shared goals.
  • You are passionate about providing exceptional service and fostering long-term customer relationships.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with team members, leadership, and customers.
