Job Description Campus Minister & Religious Education Teacher
The Campus Minister plays a vital role in nurturing the spiritual life of the school community by supporting students in their faith formation, pastoral care, and engagement with Catholic Social Teaching. Working collaboratively with administration, staff, clergy, and families, the Campus Minister helps animate the Catholic identity of the school through prayer, liturgy, retreats, service, and relationship-building.

- Visible, authentic commitment to the Catholic faith grounded in prayer, Scripture, and the sacramental life of the Church, and to Catholic Social Teaching expressed through service, justice, and community engagement initiatives.
- Compassionate, attentive approach to supporting the spiritual and personal growth of adolescents within a school community, and to fostering meaningful faith formation experiences that are relevant, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate for high school students.
- Clear, respectful communication skills in order to facilitate prayer, liturgy, retreats, and group dialogue with students, staff, administration, clergy, families, and diocesan partners.
- Attentive to ethical practice, discretion, and ongoing faith and professional development.
Specific Qualities
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Experience working with adolescents in a school, parish, or youth ministry setting
- Post-secondary education in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Ministry, Education, or a related field
- Valid BC Teacher Certification (TRB) or equivalent
- Ability to support and uphold the mission and values of a Catholic school
- Experience planning and leading liturgies, retreats, prayer experiences, service-learning, social justice, or reconciliation initiatives
- Understanding of adolescent development and pastoral care principles
Salary: $61,281 to $111,727 per annum

The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese are group one independent schools, receiving 50% operational funding from the ministry of education. All schools teach the prescribed ministry of education curriculum. Teachers are paid according to the qualifications and years of experience. Teachers are also eligible for the Group Benefits Program that provides medical, dental, other extended health benefits, plus a defined contribution (DC) Group Pension Plan.
