Description Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Principal Rail Vehicle Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure the definition of the Rail Vehicle System Architecture, by the identification of the interfaces among the main on-board technological sub-systems.
- Ensure that the Rail vehicle design is oriented to maintenance effectiveness and to use of expert diagnostic systems
- Execute the Verification activities of Rail vehicle interface documents, according to the V&V Plan
- Ensure the assessment of the Rail Vehicle Design in order to achieve full integration with other sub-systems and components
- Ensure the monitoring of Rail vehicle production and testing process in order to control key factors affecting interfaces and system performances.
- Participate in onsite tests relevant to the Rail vehicle Integration (e.g. advice to issue resolution)
- Ensure the proposal of improvements and updates of the design standards about Rail vehicle interfaces in accordance with process and technology improvements
- With regards to Rail vehicles, contribute to the functional requirements fulfilment in Design and Testing phase and to the resolution of the interfaces among Rail vehicles and the other sub-systems, by providing detailed description of the main integrated functions as well as main operating scenarios.
- KPI trends of the projects about Requirements Management
Required Skills:
- At least 10 years' experience in onboard equipment installation and testing of Rail vehicles.
- Knowledge in electrical wiring, functional scheme review and mechanical installation.
- Ability to manage a local technical team, manage the final client, and subcontractor.
- Ability to work in a complex project and team-work skills.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology or Equivalent Technical Background
Languages: English-Proficient
