AVP, Applied AI
KEY OBJECTIVES:
Chubb's Global Analytics Team is seeking an experienced and dynamic AVP, Applied AI to join our vibrant and fast-paced environment, dedicated to pioneering innovative AI solutions. This role encompasses both people and technical leadership responsibilities, as the ideal candidate will be integral in developing and overseeing the delivery of high-quality AI products.
In this leadership position, you will foster a collaborative culture, empowering team members to excel in their roles while encouraging creative problem-solving and innovative thinking. Your ability to mentor and inspire will be essential as you guide your team in navigating the complexities of AI applications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of AI professionals, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture.
- Drive the design, development, and deployment of AI & ML products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Research & implement cutting-edge modeling techniques, including pre-training, fine-tuning, unsupervised
- learning methods, embeddings, representations, graph-based approaches, and reinforcement learning.
- Guarantee the delivery of high-quality code that aligns with business objectives, adheres to quality standards, and complies with secure web development practices.
- Manage project timelines and milestones, ensuring timely delivery of AI initiatives while maintaining quality and performance standards.
- Ensure high quality code that meets business objectives, quality standards and secure web development guidelines.
- Manage project stakeholder expectations and issue communications on progress.
- React to shifting priorities without compromising deadlines and momentum.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have:
- PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience (including time spent during PhD and Master’s studies) in Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and/or Language Models.
- Proven track record of deploying AI models in production environments.
- Solid understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of RL/DL.
- 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
- Proficient in ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and their implementation in production environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to have:
- Publications in AI/ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, etc.).
- Familiarity with end-to-end application development using a full stack is a plus.
- Knowledge of property and casualty (P&C) insurance is an asset.
