The Data Engineer will contribute to advancing specialty health care by using data to support the decision-making process. This position is highly hands-on and requires gaining intimate knowledge of our processes, databases, and analytics infrastructure. As the successful candidate you will help optimize reporting processes for both internal and external stakeholders, while working with a highly collaborative team.

How you will make an impact

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data integration processes using tools such as SQL, ETL platforms, and Python;
  • Collaborate with team members to support data engineering projects;
  • Work with Business Analysts to understand technical requirements and contribute to solution development;
  • Participate in data engineering tasks, focusing on data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes;
  • Engage in data modeling to ensure efficient and effective data integration;
  • Set up and maintain BI tools, infrastructure, and integration with company data sources;
  • Contribute to the selection and implementation of data engineering technologies and methodologies under the guidance of senior team members;
  • Responsible to report any patient safety information as per adverse event reporting requirements and product quality complaints reporting requirements; and
  • Other duties as required.

What you’ll bring to our team

  • Degree in Data Science or 4+ years of experience in a data engineer role;
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in information analysis, data presentation modeling, and data conversion techniques;
  • Solid experience in designing and maintaining data models for data integration;
  • Effective communication skills and adept at ad hoc reporting;
  • Knowledge of DBT (data build tool) for data transformation processes is an asset;
  • Python programming knowledge is considered a strong asset, enhancing data manipulation and automation capabilities; and
  • Direct experience working with healthcare, or other sensitive data, is an asset.
