JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Administrator plays a key role in supporting our Sales and Business Development team within the telecommunications industry. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth progression of projects and customer requests. This role also offers a clear path for career growth**, with the opportunity to advance into an Inside Sales position and, over time, transition into an Outside Sales role for those who demonstrate strong performance and initiative.**
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Support
  • Assist BDM in preparing professional quotes, bids, and proposals for telecom and industrial clients (e.g., radio systems, CCTV, network infrastructure)
  • Track sales opportunities in the CRM system (NetSuite), ensuring accurate data entry and pipeline visibility
  • Support the Business Development Manager with client meetings, site visits, and follow-up actions
  • Coordinate internally with engineering, field service, rentals, and procurement to align pricing, delivery timelines, and resource availability
  • Consult with clients after the sale to provide ongoing support
  • Conduct occasional site visits
  • Support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events
Administrative Support
  • Occasionally deliver products to customer sites
  • Ensure effective coordination between Sales, Service, and Rentals to support successful job execution and strong customer satisfaction
  • Prepare service-related documentation such as quotes, invoices, and reports
  • Provide customers with updates on service progress, timelines, and resolutions
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years experience in a Sales Administrator or Sales Support role
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience supporting sales or business development teams in a fast-paced environment
Asset
  • Experience within the telecommunications or technology industry
  • Familiarity with telecommunications products, services, or systems
Other Requirements
  • Occasional travel within Fort McMurray to support client needs is required as part of this role.
  • Full, valid, and current driver’s license
  • Clean 5-year driver’s abstract
  • Clear Criminal Background Check
SKILLS:
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when preparing quotes and handling customer documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new systems, processes, and technologies relevant to inventory and logistics operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to track and manage RFP submissions and other time-sensitive documents
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This Sales Administrator is based in a professional office environment. This requires regular use of a computer and standard office equipment. While primarily desk-based, the role may occasionally require extended hours to support urgent requests or project deadlines.
PHYSICAL DEMANADS:
The Sales Administrator requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. This position must be able to spend approximately 40% of the day standing, 40% sitting or walking, and 10% lifting boxes up to 20 lbs. The role requires frequent use of a computer for extended periods.
