We are currently recruiting for: Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Superintendent - Permanent – Fulltime

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible to provide overall leadership, direction, and technical support to the E&I department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Expert in the design of low, medium, and high voltage power distribution systems including their protection and control of switchgears, MCC and turbogenerator excitation and control system
  • Provide production departments with high quality engineering support with regards to field E&I equipment
  • Establish targets, goals, and objectives for the E&I department to improve the level of service to the organization.
  • Develop lifecycle plans for all Electrical process field equipment
  • Conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and provide recommendations for long and short-term fixes
  • Coach and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance
  • Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations.
  • Ensure employees are trained to meet the technological requirements of Variable Speed Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Distributed Control Systems within facility
  • Prepare proposals for annual capital budget requests. Implement & management of the sanctioned projects.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation EMS (ISO 14001) standards

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of electrical experience in industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the design and implementation of MV and LV electrical systems including substation, motors and drives, power distribution, power generation, as well as working knowledge of field instrumentation and equipment automation
  • Pulp & Paper Supervisory and/or Management experience is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and leadership skills are essential.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Work Conditions

  • Some travel will be required
  • Weekend work is required on occasion

Work Salary Range: ($101,420 to $125,000) annually depending on experience.
