Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Cold/refrigerated. Hot. Outdoors. Wet/damp. Noisy. Work setting: Kennel. Tasks: Bathe and shampoo animals. Document animal behaviour. Monitor animal behaviour. Prepare food and feed animals. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Keep records of animals treated. Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals. Assist animal breeders to handle and nurture animals. Clean animal ears. Maintain and order supplies. Clean and maintain recreational facilities and grounds. Type of pets groomed: All breeds of dogs. Area of specialization: Animal husbandry. Animal specialization: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Standing for extended periods.
