The Family Justice Services Branch (FJSB), within the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General provides services to parents who need help in dealing with the difficulties of family breakdown, separation, and divorce in the healthiest way possible. The branch also collects child support. Services are provided by court direction, legislation mandate, or voluntary participation.
At the Maintenance Enforcement Office (MEO) within the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General, we are dedicated to ensuring the well-being of families by upholding the legal rights of children and parents to receive the support ordered by the court. We are passionate about our work and building pathways of stability and hope for families.
The Opportunity: The MEO is seeking a skilled and people‑centered Manager to lead three teams responsible for delivering a comprehensive, integrative, and stand‑alone enforcement program that impacts families across Saskatchewan and Canada. This role provides a unique opportunity to influence outcomes for children and families by ensuring court‑ordered support payments are enforced fairly, consistently, and compassionately. As a key partner to the Director, you will help shape program effectiveness, uphold legislative compliance, and support staff working in a high‑conflict, high‑impact environment.
As the Manager responsible for Family Support within the Maintenance Enforcement Office, you will:
- Lead and manage Team Leads and Family Support Officers (FSOs), ensuring compliance with child support legislation, regulatory frameworks, and MEO policies.
- Provide one‑to‑one coaching, oversight, and directions to Team Leads, especially when outcomes are uncertain or complex.
- Support the Director by reporting issues, recommending solutions, and contributing to policy and procedural improvements
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex client issues, staff concerns, and operational challenges.
- Oversee performance management, including evaluations, performance plans, and early‑stage grievance handling.
- Audit case files to ensure accurate administration, adherence to standards, and effective case management.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify trends, anticipate program needs, and recommend legislative or procedural changes.
- Provide hands on support for escalated client concerns, guiding team leads through resolution strategies and maintaining high service standards.
- Collaborate with lawyers, courts, enforcement partners, federal agencies, employers, and interjurisdictional counterparts to support enforcement outcomes.
- Participate in jurisdictional committees and support responses to Ombudsman inquiries and Ministerial referrals.
- Serve as the Privacy Liaison Officer, responding to and tracking privacy breaches and recommending corrective actions.

- A firm understanding of the Family Justice System and enforcement processes.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, mentor, and support staff working in high‑conflict environments.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to de‑escalate conflict, manage emotionally charged situations, and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
- A solid ability to analyze trends, interpret legislation, and recommend program improvements.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams, units, and jurisdictions.
- High emotional intelligence, resilience, and professionalism when dealing with adversarial or distressed clients.
- Sound judgment and decision‑making abilities, especially when outcomes are uncertain or sensitive.
- Integrity and respect with a commitment to public service excellence.
Typically, the knowledge for this position would be attained through:
- A completion of a recognized post‑secondary education in justice studies, social sciences, public administration, or a related field at the bachelor’s degree level.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in enforcement, family justice, regulatory programs, or high‑conflict client service environments with a minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory capacity involving performance management, coaching, and complex decision‑making.
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
