The Job Details are as follows: Who We Are We are the first publicly-traded biotech or pharmaceutical company to take the form of a public benefit corporation. Our public benefit purpose is to provide a brighter future for patients through the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies; and technologies that expand the availability of transplantable organs.
United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR ) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension( PAH) . Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease ( PH-ILD ) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis ( PF ).
The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create bio-artificial organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option.
Who you are: United Therapeutics is seeking their missing puzzle piece. Are you a doctoral level thymus based research expert with expertise in immuno-senescence mechanisms looking to see and feel your impact? This is your chance. The Program Manager, Thymus-Based Anti-Immunosenescence Therapeutics role is responsible for leading the translational development of thymus-based therapies aimed at reversing immuno-senescence. This role bridges academic research and clinical application, guiding the progression of therapeutic concepts from university-based laboratories into clinical development. The position requires strategic oversight of pre-clinical and clinical activities, as well as market and business analysis to inform indication prioritization.
- Direct the bench-to-bedside translation of thymus-based research into clinical-stage therapies
- Manage third-party vendors responsible for pre-clinical toxicology studies and clinical trial material (CTM) preparation
- Conduct and synthesize medical, market, and business research to identify and rank-order preferred indications for thymus-based therapies
- Collaborate with academic and industry stakeholders to ensure alignment of scientific and commercial objectives
- Develop and refine clinical development protocols based on research findings and market insights
- All other duties as requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in thymus-based research
- 1+ years of experience in medical, market and business research in the pharmaceutical sector
- Ability to manage third-party pre-clinical toxicology and clinical trial material (CTM) preparation
- Expertise in thymus biology and immuno-senescence mechanisms
- Familiarity with translational research and clinical development processes
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for pre-clinical toxicology and CTM preparation
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical market dynamics and therapeutic area landscapes
- Strong project management and vendor coordination capabilities
- Effective communication skills for both scientific and business audiences
- Analytical ability to evaluate therapeutic potential and prioritize clinical indications
- Capacity to integrate academic research into actionable clinical strategies
- Aptitude for working independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
Job Location This role can be located 100% onsite in British Columbia, Canada or Silver Spring, MD (US).
