Job Overview SNDL’s Business Technology Team designs, delivers and operates the products and platforms that enable SNDL’s profitability and growth. This is your opportunity to apply your leadership experience at an established company in a new & emerging industry. This unique role will provide the incumbent with a broad leadership role in data, analytics, business intelligence, and AI, throughout the corporation, in a team-oriented environment with the potential for directly impacting SNDL’s results and growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you are responsible for leading the company’s data & analytics strategy, overseeing data governance, and delivering business insight solutions, projects and operations that support growth and operational efficiency. You will build and manage a high-performing team, ensure the data operations, engineering and project portfolio is delivered with excellence, while protecting the company with robust governance and controls, and build for the future with AI and Advanced Analytics innovation. This role requires building relationships with business segment stakeholders, understanding business challenges and analytics objectives, and delivering products and services that add value.

Roles And Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Build and lead a team of data analysts, engineers, data scientists and vendor partners.
  • Develop and execute SNDL’s data and analytics strategy, aligning with technology and business segment goals.
  • Establish data governance policies, processes, platforms and culture throughout SNDL, to ensure data accuracy, security and compliance.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of the target architecture for data and reporting, providing a solid foundation built on best practices, in a cost effective and value-centric manner.
  • Evaluate and implement advanced analytics tools and AI/ML solutions to enhance decision agility and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure strong controls and compliance across the data landscape, proactively assessing risk and working with stakeholders to maintain a adherence to standards and control targets.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic innovation in advanced analytics and business information trends, promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, supply chain or eCommerce analytics
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, or other data analytics programming languages
  • Microsoft Azure data foundations including Fabric, Data Factory and Synapse, SQL Server technologies, data warehousing, and ETL
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Power BI, Power Apps, Dynamics 365
  • Data governance best practices in a regulated environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
